Clemente Joseph Salerno was born May 14, 1958 in Newark, NJ. He is a homegrown minister of Calvary Tabernacle. He was saved and baptized when he was 23 years old in 1981 after a defining moment in his life. Clem was searching for answers after his father was stricken with cancer and passed away on Valentines Day. His dad committed his life to Christ shortly before his death. This final act of his father presented him with the undeniable truth that God is real. Pastor Tate our founding pastor performed the funeral of Clem’s dad and spoke words to Clem that would change his life forever…and it did. In 1982 when Calvary Tabernacle was birthed, Clem was there being a servant; from holding signs on the street corner and doing setup and cleanup to running College Campus ministries, a thriving Singles group, Missions, Evangelism Training, Discipleship Training and Biblical Counseling.
Since 1983 Clem has served as a licensed minister with Calvary Tabernacle. He was ordained as a pastor in 1996 serving as Pastor Tate’s associate at Calvary Tabernacle. When Pastor Tate retired in 1999 he chose Clem as his successor with the full support of the Elders and Steering Group.
Pastor Clem is a graduate of the Institute of Ministry, Bradenton, FL with an Able Minister’s diploma. He also has a Bachelors of Science in Organizational Management from Nyack College. He is a Board Certified Temperament Counselor with the National Christian Counselor’s Association of Bradenton, FL.
